About Taipei

Taipei, officially Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of Taiwan. Located in Northern Taiwan, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city of Keelung. Most of the city rests on the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.

Getting There

• Taipei is served by Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, the primary gateway for international travelers, located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of the city center. From the airport, you can take the Airport MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) line, which connects directly to Taipei's main train station and city center in about 35-40 minutes—a convenient and affordable option. Alternatively, airport shuttle buses and taxis are available for direct hotel transfers. Once in Taipei, the city's extensive MRT system makes navigating to the congress venue straightforward, with trains running frequently throughout the day. Taxis and rideshare services are also readily available and reasonably priced. Public transportation is reliable, clean, and English signage is common in central areas, making it easy for international visitors to get around.
